For LeeAnne Wright, the process of painting involves letting go of inhibitions and fearlessly following a creative vision. That vision is inspired by sunlit spaces and illuminated interiors, scenes in which colors are pushed to their brightest and darkest values. The drawing and initial composition might set the scene, but in her words, “It is when I venture into mixing colors that my initial plan begins to bend and change in exciting ways. It is all about the way the colors relate to each other once they’re placed side by side on the canvas. I create paintings full of joy, color and light.”

LeeAnne was born, raised, and educated in Richmond, Virginia where today, she happily balances being a mother, and an artist. Earning her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Richmond, and then her Master’s degree in Fine Arts at Virginia Commonwealth University, LeeAnne has exhibited her work over the years in various venues including the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts Studio School, Nimrod Hall Creative Workshops Exhibition, Stockley Gardens Art Show, and the Virginia Beach Boardwalk Art Festival.

To energize her creativity, LeeAnne participates in classes and workshops at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts and Nimrod Hall. She also offers studio time and instruction to experienced adults in her home, and has recently traveled to attend an artists’ retreat in San Miguel de Allende.

LeeAnne’s clients include the Country Club of Virginia, the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond, and private collectors in the Washington D.C. metropolitan area; Richmond, Virginia; and other areas including Atlanta, Chicago, and New York City.
